Photography Healing Journey
Aphrodite Photography provides a priceless emotional experience to our clientele as they each become the subject of international award-winning fine art nude, glamor nude, and/or boudoir portrait photography. The discerning woman who insists on the best is afforded a vast array of possibility to be a warrior advocate for herself and to memorialize the art of who she is, who she has been, and who she might become.
Both studio and on-location portrait sessions are available. We offer this service to Columbia, Greenville, Charleston, Hilton Head, and Myrtle Beach South Carolina; Charlotte and Asheville North Carolina; and Augusta, Atlanta, and Savannah Georgia. We also maintain an outpost in Washington DC, our original home. Destination portrait sessions outside of our normal service area are a further option.
The question has been asked: “Do you also photograph women with all their clothes on?” Upon occasion we do, most often when one of our clients is the face of her business and needs strong portrait photographs to promote herself and her offerings to the world. When you love how you look in photographs au naturel, creating great images while fully attired is a piece of cake. And who doesn’t want a piece of cake?

What Is Beauty?
Dictionary.com: The quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest).
I can work with that. Please notice that the definition mentions nothing about perfection. Also notice that the definition does not preclude the possibility of multiple qualities being present that manifest to the beholder as being beautiful.
I’ve noticed that honesty of emotion is also very attractive and we perceive it as beautiful when it manifests in another person. We can trust this person because we now know what they think and feel. It’s safe to be near them, to be attracted.

Capturing Authenticity
I would also put forth that something is beautiful if it gets the job done. Beauty attracts. If the attraction results in a coming together that then produces a thing of value, beauty has done its job. A creation has occurred and the world is richer for it. No perfection required.
In my roll as Aphrodite’s photographer, I search for every aspect of beauty that is present in my subject/client. I often think to myself, “If I was in love with this person, what would attract me to them? What would I see?” And that is what I photograph.
